Local beer geeks are keeping an eye out for lagers and ales from a new local microbrewery called Holy City Brewing. Currently, there are only three micros in the Charleston area: Palmetto, COAST, and Westbrook.

Established in a small facility in North Charleston by entrepreneurs and homebrewers Joel Carl and Chris Brown, Holy City Brewing is set to roll out their first barrels this spring. They call themselves “an aspiring self-sustainable brewery.”

It looks like they’ve already run test batches of brown ales, stouts, pilsners, and pale ales on their customized 15 barrel system. Some final construction efforts are still in progress. Visit holycitybrewing.com for updates.
