This Saturday’s Charleston Battery game versus the Richmond Kickers will honor the Charleston Nine, the nine firefighters who passed away in June 2007 during the Sofa Super Store fire.

All first responders and their families will receive free tickets; tickets will be dropped off at police, fire, and EMT stations/sites this week and there will be a will call table set up outside of the stadium.

In addition to free tickets for first responders, the Battery will honor the Charleston Nine in other ways throughout the night, including giveaways of plastic fire helmets and stickers and special edition red jerseys with the Charleston 9 patch. If you want to snag one of the jerseys for yourself you can bid until 8:30 p.m. on June 10. Money raised goes to the Charleston 9 Memorial Fund.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the game kicks off at 7 p.m. You can buy your tickets online.
