Veteran South Carolina band Hootie and the Blowfish are ready to return to the Family Circle Magazine Stadium on Daniel Island for their 10th annual Homegrown Concert Series this month. Last week, lead singer/guitarist Darius Rucker, lead guitarist Mark Bryan, bassist Dean Felber, and drummer Jim “Soni” Sonefeld announced the opening bands for the two-night event.

Up-and-coming country songwriter Justin Moore will perform an early set at the stadium on Fri. Aug. 17. Atlanta-based alt-rock band Collective Soul will be on hand to open the show on Sat. Aug. 18. Local acts Early Ray, Southwood, and the Blue Dogs (who are celebrating their 25th anniversary this summer) will perform an afternoon showcase on Saturday as well.

The Homegrown Concert Series is designed to raise funds and collect back-to-school supplies for the Charleston County School District. Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster outlets and the Family Circle box office by phone at (800) 745-3000.
