During Spoleto, the City Paper likes to provide a valuable service to its readers. We know it’s hard to decide what to go see, and we know that sometimes you miss out on something because you’re waiting until the last minute to buy your tickets. That’s why we do Hot Ticket: A daily post to let you know what’s close to selling out so you can snag your seats before it’s too late, and prepare rearrange your schedule.

We learned last year that Spoleto Festival USA shows don’t ever “sell out.” Instead, they can have extreme levels of “limited availability.” They understand that while a show may technically have no tickets available, there might be some last-minute cancellations that free up spots. For now, they tell us that the Bela Fleck and the Flecktones on June 5 has this extremely limited availability.

As for Piccolo, the May 29 Jazz at Halls Chophouse with Duende and the performance of How to Eat Like a Child on June 8 at 2 p.m. are both close to selling out.

With that in mind, also remember that tonight marks the openings of a number of visual arts exhibits; we’ve got a round-up of those here. And Khmeropedies I and II, The Cripple of Inishmaan, and The Red Shoes have preview runs tonight.
