A bill introduced last week would require buildings with trussed roofs to be identified on the outside with some sort of plaque saying as much.

One introduced today would make it easier for businesses to afford sprinkler systems. It’s similar to a bill introduced by Sen. Glenn McConnell. Both are push backs to a call for mandatory sprinklers that’s seen by House and Senate leaders as a step too far.

“When dealing with costly endeavors like this, it is better for government to use market-based incentives instead of passing on costly mandates that would do little and could possibly put people out of business,” says House Speaker Bobby Harrell.
