[image-1] Calling all bookworms — Indie Bookstore Day is back. On Sat. April 27 head to Park Circle’s very own indie bookstore, Itinerant Literate Books, for a day full of cool events and exclusive day-of merchandise.
This is Itinerant Literate’s first year celebrating Bookstore Day in their new brick-and-mortar spot in North Charleston, and they’re going all out, open all day on Sat. April 27, 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
The first 10 customers in the door will receive a free Itinerate Literate tote bag. Stick around for a flash fiction workshop at 11 a.m., Lowcountry folklore and folktales with Julian Gooding at noon, tumbling tales with Grassroots Gymnastics at 1:30 p.m., the fourth annual StorySlam at 6 p.m., and more.
If you’re interested in participating in the StorySlam, a local and live author storytelling event, be sure to sign up beforehand.
In it for the one-of-a-kind items? We hear ya, they’re gonna be good. Itinerate Literate is offering these items on April 27 only — you won’t be able to find them online or in chain bookstores (indie only, y’all).
These exclusive items include: Elmo’s New Puppy Little Golden Book; signed edition of Ada Twist & The Perilous Plants; signed edition of The Girl Who Drank the Moon, which includes a high quality set of vinyl stickers; signed edition of Chuck Palahniuk’s Adjustment Day, the author’s first novel in four years; a “fight evil, read books” enamel pin; and more.
In a press release co-owner of Itinerate Literate, Christen Thompson says: “Park Circle is so supportive of small and independent business and has been so welcoming. We can’t wait to celebrate with the neighborhood and bring even more literary magic to our corner of the world.”
