The College of Charleston announced this afternoon that Beth Levin, the pianist scheduled to perform an International Piano Series concert on Tuesday, Nov. 4 has canceled her performance due to a death in her immediate family. Instead of Levin, the 24-year-old Korean pianist Ji will perform.

Ji has performed at the Kennedy Center and at New York’s Merkin Concert Hall, and also played a four-hand recital with Georgia native and pianist Charles Wadsworth, who’s performed in the Lowcountry many times.

Despite his talent and classical stardom, Ji is also refreshingly un-stodgy — he’s collaborated with pop stars, dancers, and other artists and has a vision of making classical music accessible to all people. Check out his energetic style in the video above, and get tickets or find out more about the concert at music.cofc.edu/concerts.
