[image-1]According to a BAR Agenda item, the answer to that question is yes. It looks like the owners of Mex 1 Coastal Cantina (or should we say Mex 3?) have plans to open a third location at 810 Meeting St.

The corner, where Meeting and Morrison intersect, has been empty for some time. Only a dilapidated masonry building along with an Enough Pie-sponsored Community Kiosk currently sits there.

If the request gains approval, it would mean demolition for the 1950s structure to make way for what blueprints say is a “Mex 1 Coastal Cantina Concept,” the third Mex 1 for owners Roddy Smith and Dave and Chrissy Lorenz.

Their original property opened in Avondale in 2012. Last September, the business owners opened a second Mex 1 on Sullivan’s Island.

If built, the Baja-focused biz would sit directly across from Santi’s Restaurante Mexicano, finally establishing the city’s first guacamole gateway.

Mex 1’s owners could not be reached for comment. Little Dog Agency, which runs Mex 1’s PR, says that they’re not ready to release any information on the project.  [image-3] [location-1] [location-2]
