There’s several places to celebrate Fat Tuesday tonight, and if you’re a foodie, you’ll probably want to make way to Muse tonight for their second Carnevale party. Just be sure to wear a mask — it’s a masquerade.

The open bar will serve beer, wine, and cocktails and they’ll be passing heavy hors d’oeuvres like merguez sausage appetizer. As for wines, old world vino will be flowing with a Venetian theme. Quentin Baxter will be providing the live music. Half of the ticket price will go to the St. Bernard Projects for Katrina Victims. And they’re auctioning off gift certificates and a fine bottle of wine. The open bar lasts from 7-10 p.m.

Or, if that’s too much trouble for you, the Glass Onion is having a more low-key affair, but they do encourage you to wear a costume. Mardi Gras specials will be going on all day today, including an extra discount on a meal for best dressed,  and if you decide to be boring, they’ll have plenty of beads to kick-up the celebration. Abita Ambers are just $1, the menu is Louisiana inspired, and, of course, they’ll be serving traditional King Cake for dessert.

From 5:30-8 p.m., WineStyles in Mt. Pleasant is celebrating Mardi Gras with jambalaya, red beans and rice, King Cake, Mardi Gras music and jazz and, of course, beads. A portion of the proceeds go to help in the continuing struggle of Hurricane Katrina victims. Special pricing on wines paired with Cajun favorites.

Of course, if you’d much rather kick it like you’re on Bourbon Street, you could stop by Voodoo for their Fat Tuesday bash, which begins at 4 p.m. with happy hour, followed by a $3 door charge starting at 7:30 p.m. Live music will be provided by the Dixieland Band, followed by Quiana Parler & Friends. Specialty New Orleans cuisine will be served, and drink specials will be flowing all night long (hurricanes, anyone?).
