Local nonprofit Jazzscape Junior Jazz Foundation brings its Jazz and Brew fundraiser to Summerville’s Home Grown Brewhouse (117 S. Main St.) on Tues. Aug. 22 at 6 p.m.

Jazzscape’s two-fold mission is to preserve and enhance jazz in Charleston by providing music instruments and vocal training to area youth and to bring student musicians to perform on Jazzscape’s online all-jazz radio station.

As for Jazz and Brew, the Ken Foberg Quartet with Alva Anderson will provide the jazzy entertainment, while tickets also include a brat or barbecue pork and a taco plus two craft beers, wine, or soda.

Proceeds provide music instruments, lessons, and training to children to youth in Berkley Charleston, and Dorchester counties. For more info or to purchase a ticket, go to jazzscape.org — tickets can’t be sold at the door so book yours in advance.
