[image-1]Billed as “the definitive documentary about The Clash and late singer/guitarist Joe Strummer,” British rockumentary The Future Is Unwritten opens in Charleston for a one-week run at the Terrace Theatre (1956-D Maybank Hwy., (843) 762-9494) on Fri. Dec. 14 (just a few days to catch it!). It was released in the U.K. in May.

Directed by London-based filmmaker Julien Temple (best known for 1980’s Sex[image-2] Pistols mish-mash The Great Rock ‘n’ Roll Swindle, 1982’s The Secret Policeman’s Other Ball, and the 2000 Pistols follow-up, The Filth and the Fury), the film digs into Strummer’s experiences before, during, and after The Clash’s rise and fall throughout the original punk/New Wave era — from his time sawing away in London pub band The 101ers through his more recent solo work.
