It’s Halloween time once again. It’s time to scare. It’s time to be spooked. It’s time to be saved. It’s time to spread the Word.
Or at least that’s what Halloween means to the churches that put on Judgement House, a sort of Xian themed haunted house type thing. Here’s the 411 from JH itself:
Over more than 20 years, Judgement House has established a remarkable track-record as the most effective evangelistic tool for reaching those who are wary of attending a traditional church service or outreach event. Speaking from personal experience, this unrepentent sinner thinks Judgement House is a grand ole time and creepy in ways the good folks behind the operation never intended. I mean, a Columbine inspired haunted house? Yes, it’s timely, but it’s also tasteless. What’s next a JH scenario based on antibiotic resistant staph, the new schoolyard bogeyman? A lead-paint tainted toy disaster at a daycare center?

In other scary news, how about these statements from Nobel Prize winning scientist and co-discoverer of DNA James Watson, courtesy of the The Independent in the U.K.:
Dr Watson told The Sunday Times that he was “inherently gloomy about the prospect of Africa” because “all our social policies are based on the fact that their intelligence is the same as ours – whereas all the testing says not really”.
