[image-1]The Junior League of Charleston (JLC) hosts their second annual Little Black Dress Initiative (LBDI) from March 13-17 as a way of raising awareness about women affected by poverty in the Charleston area.
The social media-driven fundraiser has League members wearing the same black dress for five days and posting images and messages to their social media accounts each day. Huge sacrifice? Eh, maybe not, but the league hopes to raise $20,000 during this campaign, which is admirable.
Each League member will have a donation page and all funds collected will be donated to area nonprofits. You can help the JLC raise money before then, though, by heading to a Sip & Shop event on March 9 from 4:30-8:30 p.m. in Mt. Pleasant Towne Centre. Burton Grill hosts a happy hour, donating 20 percent of their proceeds to LBDI, and retail store Lily Rain will also donate a portion of their proceeds during the event.
