[image-1]Indaco’s former chef de cuisine, Kevin Getzewich, takes over the helm as the restaurant’s executive chef. Getzewich formerly worked as sous chef at the Macintosh and Two Boroughs Larder. He has also worked as a sous chef in Philly at The Ritz-Carlton and at New York City’s Le Bernadin. Indigo Road managing partner Steve Palmer says, “Kevin has impressed me since day one at The Macintosh. He’s extremely talented and has shown great leadership, dependability and work ethic in the kitchen.”
The City Paper most recently caught up with Getzewich to talk about his healthy-eating program for students, HIVE, which stands for hope, initiative, vision, and education. The nutrition education program was designed to help kids make better food decisions than Getzewich did during his childhood. Getzewich said, “That’s been my struggle my whole life, balance. A good balance between too much and not enough. Finding that balance is much of what I do as a chef.” We think he may be one step closer to getting there.
