This is Kudu’s 11th year in a row winning “Best Coffee House,” and general manager Andrew Mauldin credits its local regulars for keeping the shop afloat through the past year.
“After this incredibly difficult and bizarre year, this award is especially meaningful … We never shut down or laid anyone off,” he said. “Without tourists or college students in town, we relied on our local regulars to keep us going.”
“We had several customers who would buy gift cards or T-shirts to give as gifts for the following year, whatever they could to help us out, which is a testament to the relationships we’ve cultivated,” Mauldin added.
