Sure we’re biased, but it’s pretty much local publishing knowledge that our staff photographer Jonathan Boncek is wildly talented. We’re not just tooting our own horns here. Boncek is bonafide — the man was nominated for a James Beard award last year, I mean come on.
With that said, if you’ve admired our photographer’s images, particularly his food shots in Dish, Dirt, or our restaurant reviews, then perhaps you’d like to know how he does it. And on Sat. Dec. 6 you can when Boncek hosts a food photography class at Southern Season.
The course, Boncek says, is for every level be you an amateur Instagraming eater or a veteran food blogger. “I’m going to talk about styling food and then how to shoot it as we go through each dish,” Boncek says.
Southern Season will prepare a four-course brunch for guests to shoot and eat. The menu includes grilled cheese panini with cypress grove lamb chopper cheese, prosciutto-style country ham and olive jam; roasted red pepper soup with pistachio pesto; roasted asparagus with a poached egg and hollandaise; and jam cake with caramel icing. Did we mention there will be wine? There will be wine.
The class starts at 11 a.m. and is $35 per person. To register, click here.
