The S.C. Arts Commission Board recently announced this year’s Individual Artist Fellows, and there are two familiar faces in the mix: Lee-Chin Siow and Jonathan Brilliant.

Siow, named the Music Performance Fellow, is the director of strings and professor of violin at CofC. She co-founded the Charleston Music Fest in 2006, and her CD Songs My Father Taught Me has been lauded by critics.

Brilliant, a Charleston native now based in Richland County, is the Visual Arts Fellow. He earned his BA from the College of Charleston and has exhibited at Redux and the City Gallery at Waterfront Park. His Have Sticks Will Travel World Tour took his elaborate installations to 13 galleries on two continents.

The other two winners were Mark Kilstofte (Music Composition) and Russell Biles (Craft Fellow), both of Greenville County. Each of the winners will receive $5,000. Find out more at southcarolinaarts.com/press/081011.shtml.
