Another year has come to a close here at Charleston High with similar results: We have produced the Best of Charleston 2005.

As Charleston High enters her fifth century, I charge you to ask not what the Best of Charleston can do for you, but what you can do for the Best of Charleston.

Dine in her restaurants, visit her attractions, go to her openings, shop in her shops, read her papers, live in her neighborhoods, and, most importantly, vote for her politicians.

Let us strive forward next year as this year’s graduating class carries on our proud legacy.

I believe it was the poet Byron who once said, “Charleston is a wonderful, wonderful city … the jewel of the South … a walkable city with an enviable quality of living.”

Gentrifiacally yours,
Principal Riley
