A local company specializing in organic baby food is adding several new menu items catered to parents picking up food for their children. Lillie Fuel, which opened a Mount Pleasant storefront on West Coleman Boulevard last fall, is now selling wraps, acai bowls, sandwiches, salads, breakfast sandwiches and more crafted daily by executive chef Alex Presswood.
“We strive to be a one-stop healthy shop for busy parents,” said Lillie Fuel owner Barbara Burleson in a press release. “We are very intentional in the ingredients we use and the products we carry.”
Parents can pick up turkey and avocado wraps, cauliflower mac and cheese and more from the Mount Pleasant store or a local farmers market — Lillie Fuel often pops up at the Sea Island Farmers Market, Goose Creek Farmers and Artisans Market, Mount Pleasant Farmers Market and Sunday Brunch Farmers Market.
“Just like the kids’ meals, we source ingredients for our adult menu from local farmers and make sure they’re filling, satisfying and healthy meals,” Presswood said. “It’s as if you made them yourself but didn’t actually have to. Our most popular adult item right now is the roasted beet salad with beets from Joseph Fields Farm, goat cheese crumbles, shredded carrots, baby spinach, chopped romaine and balsamic vinaigrette.”
