Cary Ann and Michael took the stage at the Newport Folk Festival on Saturday to play an hourlong set for a sold out crowd at Fort Adams State Park on the Narragansett Bay. The three-day festival, in its 54th year, featured some big names, including several who have floated through Chucktown in recent months: The Mountain Goats, Beck, The Avett Bros., The Lumineers, Jason Isbell, The Milk Carton Kids, JD McPherson, just to name a few.

S&R worked the Newport crowd with a 14-song set that included a couple covers of songs off Michael Trent’s 2010 album, “The Winner” as well as hints of Hurray for the Riff Raff’s “Little Black Star” and The Monkees’ “Whole Wide World.” From Newport, the duo heads to to Chicago for Lollapalooza this weekend, continuing their seemingly never-ending spring-summer-fall 2013 tour.

Here’s the whole setlist:

“Shank Hill Street”
“When I”
“O’ Be Joyful”
“Kemba’s Got The Cabbage Moth Blues”
“Forsaken Blues”
“Tell The Truth” (Michael Trent cover)
“Little Black Star” (Hurray For The Riff Raff cover)
“(I’d Go The) Whole Wide World” (The Monkees cover)
“All Those Words” (Michael Trent cover)
“Hail Hail”
