Next Fri. Dec. 15 Frothy Beard Brewing Co. is dropping three limited edition Frothy bottles. You can snag the Hooloovoo Blueberry Gose, Rum Barrel Aged Mermaid’s Milk, or Bobby Don Bigelow Lemone & Black Pepper Saison. Talk about a mouth party.
In addition to these bottles being special and limited, they are also given a personal touch with labels specially designed by local artists.
The gose was brewed with Bulls Bay sea salt, soured in High Wire sorghum whiskey barrels, and made with blueberries from Black Pearl farms. Co-owner and brewer Joey Siconolfi says that this beer came about with the help of patron Randy Anthony, who came in so often that the Frothy Beard guys told him that if he returned 42 days in a row they’d let him help make whatever beer he wanted. So, he did — and he designed the label, which features a blue galaxy of sorts, in reference to the race of super-intelligent Hooloovoo from Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Duh.
The milk stout, made with co
conut and aged in rum barrels for four months, features the design of Tami Boyce, who has created most of Frothy Beard’s artwork since they opened five years ago.
[image-3] The saison is considered to be part of a series, with Frothy releasing saisons every few months comprised of mostly local ingredients. This brew is a collab with Lowcountry Lemonade with malt from Asheville, NC, and yeast from Clemson, S.C. Local experimental artist Nick Jenkins created the saison’s label, featuring Siconolfi’s friend’s cat, BobbyDon.
The bottles will only be available in the brewery starting next Friday. Hours are 11 a.m.-11 p.m. daily and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. on Sundays.
