Isle of Palms venue the Windjammer hosts a special local band showcase and fundraiser this week. The MUSC Brain and Spine Tumor Program Benefit Concert is set for Sat. May 7 at 7 p.m. with variety of Lowcountry rock groups.
The 3 Dudes Band (comprised of three local young teens), Souls Harbor (from Beaufort), Southern Charm (charming rockers), Jesse and the Trippers (mad-cap party-rock dudes), and Ben Fagan and the Holy City Hooligans (led by former Plainfield Project singer Fagan) are on the bill. There will also be a silent auction.
The first week of May is Brain Tumor Action Week, a nationally recognized initiative of the brain tumor community to educate the public about brain tumors and to convince others to join in the fight for an increase in funding for research.
All proceeds go toward MUSC brain tumor research. Advance tickets are available for $10 (they’re $15 at the door).
