Local experimental psych troupe tomatoband recently released its first single, “Meat Load,” and is set to drop the group’s debut, Disc Uncertain, on Thurs. Aug. 3 on all major music platforms.

“We are very proud of the album, which is meant to be totally weird, but in a put-together kind of way,” pianist Alex Irwin says. “It’s meant to be listened to from start to finish, and each song sorta feeds into the next, resembling our live routine.”

To celebrate, the guys plan to throw down on the Pour House deck with a free show at 6 p.m. on release day as well as at Folly Beach’s Chico Feo on Fri. Aug. 4.

The album was recorded at the band’s headquarters, Wappoo Cuts Studio, with Justin Kessler (Bob Dylan, the Black Crowes) handling the mixing and mastering. This will be the first release from Wappoo Cuts Records.

You can preorder Disc Uncertain now on tomatoband’s brand new website, tomatobandmusic.com.
