Saturday’s BYOT (Bring Your Own Tee) event at the Tin Roof was like the fashion equivalent of a build-your-own-sundae bar. Organizer KJ Kearney (of Brwn Drby Haberdashery) teamed up with HolaOla Screen Printing’s Todd Curran (City Paper’s Erica Jackson’s main squeeze) and invited guests to bring a T-shirt, any T-shirt (or sweatshirt, or jacket, or any other article of clothing) to the West Ashley bar. And for $10, you could get that item screenprinted with the blue BYOT graphic. You could put the design anywhere you wanted: on the front, the back, the side, or somewhere completely random. An eclectic crowd showed up, including Charleston magazine’s Style Editor Ayoka Lucas (who brought a pair of leggings), DIPT NYC’s Matthew Hanna, and Band of Horses drummer Creighton Barrett. Inside, the Hubble Brothers kept the crowd grooving until Megan Jean and the KFB took the stage later in the evening. Keep your eye out for future BYOT events, which will feature an all-new design for your boring ol’ tee.
