Lombardi’s, James Island’s little Southern Italian restaurant on Harbor View, is currently closed. A sign on the door says it’s due to maintenance and they’ll reopen Sept. 1st.

Seems they’re not the only shut-down business planning to reopen. Fish n’ Chips on King Street, which first appeared in the old Papa Zuzu’s space in May, has also been closed down in recent weeks. The sign on their door says they’ll be reopening soon too.

It can’t be easy for a new business to find their legs in this economic climate, but surely an extended closing isn’t good for the bottom line. Perhaps they’ll be able to regroup and reopen, perhaps not. We shall see.
