Jenny Nelson and Oliver Mayfield have joined forces to bring us an original shopping concept: a consigned clothing swap en plein air. The idea behind Love Me Again Clothing Exchange is a great one. Basically, you bring your old clothes, Jenny and her crew pick out the things they like and buy them from you, sort them out, and price them at a couple dollars more than what they paid for them. Everything will be around $10 or under, save some gem designer/vintage pieces. Whatever they collect and don’t sell will be given to Goodwill. Dressing rooms are provided on an R.V. from Charleston Production Vans, and when we talked with Oliver (who runs that company), he dropped some pretty big names that have set foot on them (including Oprah, Christy Turlington, Shalom Harlow, and Jeff Bridges). The first consignment convention will be held on the 900th block of Ashley Avenue across from Hampton Park on Sat. May 9. They’ll be there starting at 9:30 a.m. to take your old beloveds, and will have trunkfuls ready to sell that they have been collecting over the months. The ultimate goal is to make this a regular stint every weekend at a different location in the greater Charleston area. They also plan on hosting small soirees to be held in between the Saturday swaps to allow people to mingle, sell their clothing, and discuss ideas. Mark your calendars for May 9, and if you’re interested in helping out or have questions, give Jenny a call at (843) 475-5123. —Hadley Lyman
