Lowcountry Juneteenth Week (LJW), founded in 2021, returns this year with another lineup of events celebrating African-American history.

From June 4-19, LJW has organized a family-friendly festival of events, starting Saturday June 4 with Kid’s Day activities and college fairs.

LJW has planned virtual events from June 6-12, covering a variety of topics including mental health, diversity and inclusion and entrepreneurship. Sunday June 19, Juneteenth, will feature a big concluding event featuring performances from Midnight Star, Dave Hollister, Fatman Scoop and Shelton Richardson.

Other in-person events include a karaoke battle on Monday June 13, a gospel concert on Wednesday June 15, as well as an art show and other concerts. LJW is also bringing back the Black Business Directory of Black-owned businesses.

A full calendar of events featuring dates, times and locations, as well as tickets and other information can be found at lowcountryjuneteenthweek.com. VIP options are available. Those interested in joining the Black Business Directory, volunteering, signing up as a food vendor or submitting the poster contest can also find information at the website.
