[image-1]Lowcountry Local First (LFF), in partnership with College of Charleston’s School of Professional Studies, is accepting new cohorts for its 2019 Growing New Farmers Program. Founded in 2010, the Growing New Farmers Program instructs the next generation of farmers and ‘food system leaders’ with classroom and hands-on training in sustainable agriculture, food literacy, and business development.
Applications are being accepted until Jan. 28 2019, and the program runs from Feb. 11 through June 24 2019. Participants receive at least 250 training hours with up to 500 additional hours of apprenticeship. Students can pursue a track in Food Systems Leadership, Growing Good Food Training, or Apprenticeship for an immersive farm-based experience. [image-2]
Upon the completion of the program, participants receive a certificate in sustainable agriculture and continuing education credits from College of Charleston’s School of Professional Studies.
