[image-1]Last year while volunteering at the VA Medical Center, Charleston resident Liza Campbell decided to create a special volunteer organization specifically designed to help vets. Volunteer-4-Vets serves Lowcountry veterans through various activities, like cooking and serving breakfast at the VA, handing out clothing and blankets to veterans at the Community Resource Center, and conducting patient visits at the VA Medical Center.

Upcoming volunteer opportunities include a breakfast for vets at the VA Medical Center on Wed. Nov. 8 from 7-10 a.m. as well as a bingo night on Thurs. Nov. 16, also at the VA Medical Center, from 6-8 p.m. The Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center is located at 109 Bee St. in downtown Charleston.
