Macintosh executive chef Ayanna John-Carter will participate in Taste America Sunday

Macintosh executive chef Ayanna John-Carter will participate in Taste America, a James Beard Foundation-sponsored event that aims to bring chefs and diners from 20 different cities together for a virtual communal dinner on Sunday at 8 p.m.

Those who purchase a ticket will receive a kit featuring a three course meal and wine that can be picked up at The Macintosh Sunday ahead of the event.

Ticket proceeds from Taste America benefit the James Beard Foundation’s Open for Good campaign, which strives to “rebuild a more sustainable and equitable food industry.”

John-Carter will serve an heirloom tomato salad, tagliatelle with smoked mushroom and pork sauce and a chocolate torte for dessert, pairing the three courses with a 2019 Dough Wines pinot noir.

After picking up the meal, attendees can tune in for the event’s national broadcast featuring celebrated chef Carla Hall and Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson, among others.
