[image-1] A video game tournament originally scheduled to take place last month is back on this Thurs. Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. at The Alley.

The tournament was postponed in August after a 24-year-old player opened fire on his competitors during a gaming tournament in Jacksonville, Fla., killing himself and two players and injuring 11 others.

“We did not feel it was appropriate to continue with our tournament immediately after the awful tragedy that happened in Jacksonville,” said Alley owner David Crowley in a statement.

The Charleston tournament will pit 32 players in a one-versus-one bracket-style Madden competition on Xbox. The prizes are $200 in cash and a $100 Alley gift card, $100 in cash and a $50 gift card, and $25 in cash and a $25 gift card.

You can register to compete here for $10.
