Big in the late 1990s, New York-based alt-pop power trio Marcy Playground scored a massive hit with in 1998 with "Sex and Candy" from their self-titled album released in 1997. With the recent release of the studio collection, Leaving Wonderland, singer/guitarist John Wozniak and new bandmates Dylan Keefe (bass) and Shlomi Lavie (drums) are back on the road "to both reconnect with their loyal audience and attract new fans."

Wozniak is also compiling a collection of Marcy Playground B-sides and rarities for release later this year as well.

The band headlines a local show at Halligan’s (3025 Ashley Town Center) on Fri. Jan. 29. Local bands Malfunction Junction, Colourslide, and White Rhino share the bill. Advance tickets are available for $10.
