Joel T. Hamilton’s Mechanical River is set to drop a new LP, the first one in years, on Sun. Oct. 8 with a celebration, along with The Kernal and Andrew Combs, at the Royal American. CDs get a release that night, while the new record, Posterity, goes live digitally on Fri. Oct. 13.

This comes just a couple of weeks following the seven-inch release of “Pomelos” via Electric Lady Records. Mechanical River’s last (and debut) LP, Astral Castle, came out back in 2012 under Shrimp Records.

Hamilton says Posterity should be out on vinyl before the end of the year.

Stay tuned to the CP‘s Feedback File for Heath Ellison’s full feature later this week on the gorgeous 13-track masterpiece that is Posterity.

You can preorder Posterity here.
