It’s been a year since former City Paper music editor and beloved Holy City drummer T. Ballard Lesemann launched Metronome Charleston, and on Fri. Sept. 20 at 6:30 p.m. Lesemann and the fine folks at the Tin Roof are throwing the website a big ole birthday bash. Tickets are $7, and the money will be used to pay the evening’s performers and help Metronome’s website expenses.

The event kicks off early with a round of rock ‘n’ roll trivia out on the Tin Roof’s rustic deck; prizes include passes to the North Charleston Performing Arts Center, the North Charleston Coliseum, and Theatre 99 and a Tin Roof bar tab — score! Some of Charleston’s most talented will take the stage, including Jordan Igoe and Royal Tinfoil guitarist Mackie Boles, Lindsey Holler, Lesemann’s own Fairy God Muthas, the Unawares, and Elim Bolt. Boring Portals, a superb local act featuring Joel T. Hamilton, Brett Nash, Emily Conner, and Scott Dence, will take the stage around 12:30 for the final set. So come on out and celebrate what is becoming one of the Holy City’s go-to music resources.
