Middleton Made Knives ONA folding knife | Provided

St. Stephen-based bladesmith Quinton Middleton of Middleton Made Knives has launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund production of the ONA, described as “the first folding knife specifically designed for culinary use.” The knife launched through the $100,00 campaign July 5, and Middleton will only be able to produce the “strong, sleek, stainless steel utility knife” if the campaign reaches that mark by August 6.

“I’m thrilled to announce the launch of the ONA by Middleton. I have been working on this knife for years, it is definitely a labor of love,” Middleton said in a press release. “I love to make upscale, bespoke culinary knives, but I knew I also wanted to make a strong utility folding knife that is perfect in the kitchen but also holds up outdoors seamlessly. That’s the ONA.”

As of publication, Middleton is about two-thirds of the way toward achieving the $100,000 goal. Knives are currently on sale through Kickstarter for those who pledge $305.

The 8.2-ounce knives are designed for on-the-go home cooks and chefs, as the “blade is big and strong enough to handle small butchering tasks from breaking down poultry and fish to more delicate tasks like portioning of vegetables and preparing herbs and garnishes for service.”

Customers who order knives can expect to receive them by November 2021 if the Kickstarter reaches its goal. For more information and to support the project, visit the ONA Kicktstarter page
