Popular downtown brunch destination Millers All Day will open a second location on James Island, according to a Monday press release. Known for its biscuits, grit bowls and boozy brunch cocktails, Millers All Day’s James Island outpost will be located in the Maybank Highway space occupied by Zia Taqueria, which is taking over Athens Restaurant & Grill’s former building nearby.

“We are very happy to be opening a second space that will have both indoor and outdoor seating,” said co-owner Nathan Thurston, who opened Millers All Day on King Street in 2018, in a press release. “Expanding and opening a second location allows for more guests access to Millers All Day.”

The space will be upgraded by Whitney Rietz Design before opening in fall 2021. Once open, look for “a full bar with brunch, pastries, salads, sandwiches and a coffee program,” the press release said.
