It may only be April, but if you ask us, it’s never too soon to start picking out your beach reads. You can get a head start this weekend: On Sat. April 11 at 3 p.m., Ann B. Ross, author of the beloved Miss Julia novels, will read from and discuss her latest installment in the series, Miss Julia Lays Down the Law. In this book, the elderly widow Miss Julia is affronted when a snobby outsider moves in to the small town of Abbotsville, N.C. and wants to improve it in various vulgar ways. Later, that snobby outsider is found dead by Miss Julia herself.

Miss Julia Lays Down the Law is available in hardcover and as an e-book.
