President Joe Biden, now clear of Covid, and First Lady Jill Biden plan to travel to South Carolina on Wednesday for an apparent vacation on Kiawah Island, according to the White House late Sunday. They reportedly would return Aug. 16. The South Carolina resort has been a frequent vacation spot for the couple including visits in 2009, 2013, 2014 and 2015, according to The State.

The vacation comes after a series of wins by the president, including the so-called Inflation Reduction Act that passed Sunday and will be the most significant federal investment to counter climate change in history. It also will lower the cost of prescription drugs and help lower the federal deficit. The bill could pass the House this week.
