Motormouth Mabel, the far-flung, rowdy and unpredictable outfit hailing from the Holy City, is back. For now, anyway.

Known for their wild antics — playing in their underwear, naming their band after a character in Hairspray — and doing things that might or might not have had them banned from some Charleston-area live music venues, the band recently released a video for an upcoming aptly named new single “Permanent Vacation.”

They’re also playing a free show in Charleston on Saturday, Dec. 14 at Big Gun on Calhoun Street.

And here’s another classic move: a secret show is in the works around here, but they won’t name the time or location until the day it happens. So tune into whatever frequency Motormouth Mabel operates on, or check the Twitters.
