Did you know that the “Gandhi of boiled peanuts” works outside GDC furniture store in Mt. Pleasant? That’s what Chris Bible, the self proclaimed peanut dude, called himself on CBS’ Sunday Morning this weekend. Bible spoke to Susan Spencer of 48 Hours all about his peanut stand and the so called “Caviar of the South.”
A Charleston native, Bible’s been selling his nuts at GDC for nine years and he gave one of the wackier Charleston food interviews we’ve seen in recent memory.
“I see myself as the Steve Jobs, Ted Turner, Henry Ford, Gandhi, and shall we say John F. Kennedy of boiled peanuts!” Bible said.
See if you agree.
