On Sept. 26 and 27, locals and visitors alike can walk Charleston’s Museum Mile. Put on by a group of nonprofit organizations, the Museum Mile weekend offers up events from six museums, five historical houses, four scenic parks, and a Revolutionary War Powder Magazine. The mile, which covers a section of Meeting Street, has stuff to do for the entire family. There’s lots of fun planned for the kiddies. On Sat., the Charleston Museum will have arts and crafts time for kids from 10 a.m. until noon. The Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry has a pirate-themed exhibit for the little ones, along with cupcake decorating at 2 p.m. on Sat. For the older crowd, South Carolina’s oldest building, the Powder Magazine, will have living history programming from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Sat. and 1-4 p.m. on Sun. There’s so much more to offer during the weekend. A weekend pass is only $20 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under. For more info, call (843) 722-2996, ext. 235.
