  • The Music and Oysters for Wildlife near Awendaw

The sixth annual Music and Oysters for Wildlife benefit — an oyster roast, cook-out, and concert on the edge of the Francis Marion National Forest — features a mix of live music and authentic Lowcountry fare on Sat. Jan. 22.

The bill includes some of Charleston’s busiest acts, including Ed Hunnicutt, the Blue Dogs, Occasional Milkshake (featuring Mark Bryan of Hootie and the Blowfish), Danielle Howle, Doug Jones, Cravin’ Melon, the Red Dog Ramblers, and the Lincoln Middle/High School Steel Band.

Proceeds benefit the SEWEE Association, which hopes to raise money to support their environmental education programs. The festival runs from 2 p.m. ’til late.

Advance tickets are available for $35. Check out seweeassociation.org and awendawgreen.com for more info.
