Check out works by two artists at the North Charleston City Gallery this October. Starting on Thurs. Oct. 5 from 5-7 p.m. Bradley Carroll and Sharon Robinson will display their paintings and mixed media collages, respectively, at the gallery. The works will be on display through Oct. 31.

Carroll hails from Mt. Pleasant and paints in oil and acrylic paints, focusing on the use of light to capture Charleston’s cityscapes. Referencing the evening light he often utilizes, Carroll says,  “In a city, the blue hour sets the perfect backdrop for artificial light to escort and distort our perception of what’s around us.”

Robinson, who is based in D.C., presents her collection of mixed-media collage works, Ever Emerging, alongside Carroll’s paintings. Robinson says, “I find that mixed media provides the opportunity for endless combinations of materials that allows me to construct my own interpretation of ideas, themes, and life situations.”
