For the past three years, North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey has been giving his State of the City address in a video format. Tonight, you can stream the video of his latest address here when it begins at 7 p.m.:
Topics to be covered include economic development, job creation, Mayor Summey’s ongoing fight over railroads in the Navy Yard, current road and infrastructure projects, the police department and crime reduction, North Charleston Coliseum improvements, the construction of a new public works facility, expansion of community center facilities, and city finances.
City spokesman Ryan Johnson says this year’s video is “the best yet.” Explaining the mayor’s choice of medium, he says in an e-mail, “We figured out several years ago that State of the City speeches were horrifically boring, so we turned it into a video.”
