Video artist, trumpeter, and composer Jacob Wick, of Brooklyn, N.Y., brings his uniquely multifaceted musical style to Eye Level Art: 103 on Sun. Oct. 11 at 8:30 p.m. Wick will collaborate with local musicians, including members of the New Music Collective arts organization.

He will also perform solo as a part of his multi-city performance project entitled Road Trip: Drawing a Perimeter of the United States. Each location’s performance will have three parts. First is a collaborative improvisation called This Is It, featuring Charleston musicians. The second performance, 4’33", is based on John Cage’s piece, but has been reinterpreted into a community video performance. The final piece, performed solely by Wick, is called road trip.

The project will grow with each city on the road trip. Wick will be available for discussion after the event, but if you can’t make it, you can experience it online through Wick’s online accounts.
