We received an update at the end of July that the “modern, American restaurant” going into the old Cypress space is “still a couple months from completion.” On Aug. 6 there was a post on Tradds’ Instagram showing director of operations Sam Richardson perusing Le Creuset products for the restaurant.

Hotel Bennett

Our latest update from the luxe hotel is that it’s food and beverage offerings (the Signature Restaurant and Camellia’s, “a ladies lounge”)  are officially looking at “Fall 2018” for opening (exact date still TBD).

Workshop

1503 King St.

Workshop has announced that their new tenant (taking over Verde’s stall) will be brand new kitchen Two Fat Olives. Starting Sat. Sept. 1 chef and owner Brittaney Hutson, an Air Force veteran, is “taking her love for Italian culture and cuisine to the kitchen with Italian comfort food that would make Nonna proud — think spaghetti and meatballs, cheese-stuffed fried olives, and eggplant parmesan.”

Dashi’s most recent update is that they want to start renovations in October and they’re aiming for a soft opening spring of next year.

West Ashley
Kaminsky’s

As of Wed. Aug. 22, the update from the new West Ashley Kaminsky’s is that it plans to be open this coming weekend. Expect “all the Kaminsky’s favorites and new savory selections for the weekend brunch fans” as well as wine on tap and cheese plates offered daily.

House of Brews West Ashley

The latest update (mid-August) from House of Brews number two is that they “plan to open within the next two months.”

Knead Sandwich Shop

At the end of July, Knead Sandwich Shop owner Owen Plair told us they planned to have their grand opening Wed. Aug 15. On their Facebook page, they posted Tues. Aug. 14 that: “We are very sad to announce that we have hit a roadblock and will not be able to open tomorrow, as planned. We have been working hard to get Knead up and running and are very sorry to have to postpone our opening date.” There has been no other update since that post, and Plair has not responded to our most recent email.

Vicious Biscuit’s most recent update: “we are looking at a 1st of November opening but working out butts off to make it closer to mid October.”

Fractured Prune

The specialty donut shop with hordes of mid-Atlantic followers posted on Facebook that they’re planning an opening for mid-September
