Outer Space welcomes members of the American Institute of Graphic Artists (AIGA) and other local artists for the Four-Fifths art show. Alamoye Meta, an artist and student at the Art Institute, organized the show. He was inspired by the U.S. Department of Labor statistic saying that 80 percent of the job market is hidden because potential employers don’t market positions that need to be filled. Likewise, Meta took a more grassroots approach to recruiting show participants, tapping casual and social media contacts.

Besides AI students and AIGA members, the exhibit will include works in various media from more established local artists like Phillip Hyman, Sht!, Badjon, and Proton. All of the artists will be given a few minutes to introduce themselves and their work, making this a great networking opportunity for the arts community.

The opening reception is Thurs. April 1 from 6-10 p.m. at Outer Space, 623-A Meeting St. The show will be on view through April 11.
