Party Kingdom Bistro has been transformed from a surreal Asian experience into a bona fide bistro. Once a fluorescent-lit room full of candy machines and plastic booths where kid and families could chow down on birthday party food like pizza and chicken fingers, the front of Party Kingdom is now a soothing dining room with plenty of banquettes, buffets, and bamboo. The owners of Party Kingdom, realizing that there’s a market for well-done Vietnamese cuisine, decided to put a bigger focus on the food. Don’t despair, the Party Kingdom is still jumping, but it’s separated from the dining room by a long hall — long enough to make you forget there’s a room full of arcade games, ball pits, and skee-ball machines back there.
Now called Quyen, after proprietor Quyen Tiet, the restaurant features all-you-can-eat buffets for lunch and dinner with Vietnamese, Thai, and Japanese cuisine. That means you can find spring rolls, sushi, and wok dishes alongside the best pho in Charleston.
