True to form, the Parliament folks are slowly leaking details about the next Pecha Kucha, the last one for 2011. Scheduled for Wed. Dec. 14 at a yet-to-be-disclosed location (except that it’s in the heart of downtown), the lecture series/happy hour/scenester event features nine speakers from the local creative community, each of whom will give a six minute and 40 second presentation.
First and foremost (we’re not biased), City Paper co-founder and editor Stephanie Barna is a featured speaker; we hear she’ll be discussing the art of storytelling. Other speakers include Josef Kirk Myers and Will Willis of Visualive, Jay Fletcher of J. Fletcher Design, Chris McLernon of Two Heads Music, John Smith of SPARC, Ryan Eleuteri of Charleston Mix, Bob and Kris Galmarini of Neve Inspired, John Barnhardt of Barnfly Productions, and photographer Abigail Marie.
Lunch and Recess’ Ethan Jackson will serve as emcee, and DJs Cassidy and the Kid will provide the jams. Westbrook Brewing Company will keep the crowd hydrated. Keep an eye on pechakuchacharleston.com for all the dirty deets.
