Grammy Award winning rock guitarist and songwriter Peter Frampton is solid for a concert at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center on Tues. Aug. 3 at 7:30 p.m.

The British-born Frampton got his start in rock as a teen sensation in the late ’60s, playing in the mod-pop band The Herd and the bluesier rock band Humble Pie before becoming a bona fide arena rock star as a solo act in the ’70s. Frampton’s 1975 live double album Frampton Comes Alive! included the hits “Baby, I Love Your Way,” “Do You Feel Like We Do,” and “Show Me the Way.”

Frampton made a high-profile acting debut in 1978, playing Billy Shears in the garish film version of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. In recent years, Frampton recorded and toured with Bill Wyman & The Rhythm Kings and Ringo Starr’s All-Starr Band. VH-1 has included him in several episodes of their I Love the ’70s series. His latest album is a studio effort titled Thank You, Mr. Churchill (his first collection since his instrumental album, Fingerprints).

Tickets for reserved seats go on sale Fri. May 7 at 10 a.m. via the box office, Ticketmaster outlets, or by phone at 800-745-3000.
